Time to break down the prospects from Atlanta….

Algernon Shaw 5’11” 2017 (Acworth, GA – Harrison) – The camp’s top steal leader, Shaw was active on the defensive side of the floor with his length and quickness giving people problems.  Offensively, he was crafty in his ability to get into the paint and finish.  Shaw is a good player right now, but I think his best days are ahead of him as he continues to improve.  A solid option for schools looking for a point guard come next year.

Jaquez Gilbert 6’1″ 2018 (Marietta, GA – Mt. Bethel Christian) – Really liked Gilbert and what he brought to the table as a basketball player.  Cool, calm, and collected was the best way to describe the super smooth player from Marietta, Georgia.  His stroke was very fluid and he made shots going 9 for 15 from inside the arc and 3 for 5 from behind the three point line.  He was unbothered, made it look easy at times, and has potential as a crafty scorer and distributor.

Daniel Tisdale 5’11” 2017 (Columbia, SC – Lower Richland) – Tisdale showed a smooth game while at camp.  At times he made great plays look effortless.  The Lower Richland product was the camp’s assist leader, had the best assist to turnover ratio, went 12 for 17 from inside the arc, 5 for 10 from outside the arc, and rebounded the ball well for his size so there wasn’t much you could knock him on.  He is a player programs should flock to see if they’re looking for a solid point guard for next season.

Raleigh, NC – Coach Pete’s Raleigh camp was held October 1st at JD Lewis Center in Raleigh, NC.

Time to break down the prospects from Raleigh….

Sylvester Collins 6’0″ 2017 (Goose Creek, SC – Goose Creek) Collins is an attacking athlete with a body to grow into.  He was relentless in his pursuit of getting into the paint where he was a good finisher going 17 of 34 from inside the arc and saw the floor enough to dump it off/kick it out to the open man.  Programs looking for a slasher will be pleased with his ability to attack the rim where he is good at making plays.
