RECAP Phoenix Fall Showcase

Mesa, AZ – The 7th Annual Phoenix Fall Showcase by Area Codes Basketball was held on October 20 at Mesa High School. Over 240 players played in this annual event.

Players participated from California, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas and Arizona. This is the premier event of the Fall for basketball in Arizona. Each player gets a chance to prove how they play in certain situations such as playing with players they never played with or against.

“It’s exciting to play against the best and helping me gain more exposure against players from all over”, said Jordan McGee.

Area Codes Basketball is the only scouting service based in Arizona for college coaches, certified by the NCAA and hosts several exposure events to promote youth all over the West Coast, including California, New Mexico, Utah, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada and Arizona.

Gavin Pearce (St. Mary’s 2014) – this 6 foot 4 guard was active on both ends and can finish in traffic, good feel for the game and good size for a guard.

Travis Fuller (La Costa Canyon San Diego 2015) – this 6 foot 6 wing was unstoppable on offense, smooth prospect on the wing and can finish, DI prospect.

Navareio Holmes (Sunnyslope 2014) – played with Jump Athletic, tough guard that is a solid play-maker.

Chad Morrison (El Camino-Gamepoint 2014) – the San Diego shooting guard hit several shots from 3 pt range and has good size at 6 foot 5.

Jackie Davis (St John Bosco 2014) – at 6 foot 3 can get his shot off on the break and is a quick guard, played with Gamepoint.

Alec Wulff (Torrey Pines San Diego 2014) – played with Gamepoint, the 6 foot 3 shooting guard is a well rounded player.

Danny Badadzhanov (Apollo 2015) – played with Jump Athletic, really good shooting range and one to watch.

Keegan Hansen

Derek Sansbury (Desert Vista 2015) – defended well in both games and has upside.

Jordan Cox (Arizona Lutheran 2015) – strong guard at 5 foot 10 that can score.

Maliq Osbourne (Shadow Mountain 2015) – crafty young prospect that can get it done on offense.

Chris Jones (Verrado 2014) – good length and blocks shots in transition, rising prospect at 6 foot 4.

Hunter Thomas (Desert Ridge 2014) – nice shooting touch and can knock down the mid range shot.

Avery Smith

Jacob Bowman (Washington 2014) – one of the best prospects you never heard of, 6 foot 5 and has bounce and can score in many ways, one to watch.

Zack Wagner (Torrey Pines San Diego 2014) – the 5 foot 10 Pg played with Gamepoint, pass first guard that has a chance to be good.

Dalton Soffer (Poway San Diego 2015) -played with Gamepoint, 6 foot 4 shooting guard knocked down some big shots.

Quen Meadows (El Camino San Diego 2015) – played with Gamepoint, very athletic guard at 6 foot 2 and can finish, had a few dunks and is explosive.

Jump Athletic

Joseph Cromeens (Faith Christian-El Paso, TX 2014) – this 5 foot 8 PG has a good feel for the game with good handles and played well in each game, steady prospect.

Trey Fuller (Prescott 2014) – undersized but played hard, should improve and will have a chance.

Jachary Green (Mesquite 2014) – this 6 foot 3 prospect was really impressive on both ends, can score in transition and is very athletic with a wiry body that was one of the best performers of the showcase, could soon see DI interest.

Team Next Level (El Paso, TX)

CJ Davis (Cactus Shadows 2013) – made several nice moves to the basket and can score.

Donovan Gray (Legacy – Las Vegas, NV 2013) – defends well and can handle the ball, combo guard that has upside and scored well.

Elijah Winston (Gilbert Classical 2013) – good basketball IQ, rebounded well and has a good motor, played in one game and was impressive, good prospect at 6 foot 3 plays a few positions.

Gila River

Scott Johnson (Chaparral 2013) – this 6 foot 2 guard has decent fundamentals and showed some upside.

Tanner Hintze (Payson 2013) – good size at 6 foot 6, can rebound effectively and post up skills were good, has a good chance to play DII and carries a 4.o grade point average, impressive prospect.

Brandon Kimer (Westwind 2013) – small but quick PG that hit some mid range jumpers, vocal leader on the floor.

Famoun Miller

Cody March (Sandra Day 2013) – rough start but found his way in the second game, can attack and has decent handles.

Steven Scott Lopez (Valley Vista 2014) – this 6 foot 1 PG also can play the wing, good basketball fundamentals and can score.

Gino Little (Desert Mountain 2014) – improves daily, at 5 foot 9 has a good IQ and has a solid jumper from 15ft.

Justin Simon

Avery Smith (Apollo 2014) – can play multiple positions and at 6 foot 4 has good handles and bouncy athlete can block shots and defends.

Carter Wilson (Queen Creek 2014) – good shooting range and can play a few positions on the floor, impressed several.

Keaton Ranger (Gilbert Christian 2014) – impressive shooting guard with good range, plays consistent and good feel for the game.

Malique Roundtree (Chavez 2016) – lock up defender that has good upside.

Jacob Bowman

Dontez Thomas (McClintock 2016) – smooth ball handler that has a quick release, can slash on the wing, good young prospect to watch.

Andre Bearden (Sahuaro Tucson 2014) – one of the fastest guards on the day.

Jordan Mcgee (St Marys 2016) – tough ball handler and good floor leader at 5 foot 7.

Famoun Miller (Central 2015) – played with Jump Athletic, nice bounce and can finish on the break, scores in flashes and was one of the top prospects of the showcase.

Marco Morales

Marco Morales (Chandler 2014) – played with AZ All Stars, solid combo at 6’0 and knocked down several shots, one of the best shooting guards of the day.

Trevor Johnson (Flagstaff 2014) – good shooting range from 15ft, the 6 foot 2 PG defends well on man to man defense and can attack on the dribble, on the radar in Northern AZ.

Brendan Rumel (Rincon 2016) – played with Tucson Heat, the 6 foot 6 frosh has good upside and still needs to develop and work on his skills.

Trevor Johnson

Mitch Lightfoot (Ironwood Ridge 2016) – played with Tucson Heat, the 6 foot 6 prospect blocks shots, has bounce and is long in length, improved a lot over the past few months and still is one of the best in this class in Arizona.

Reid Johnson (Cathedral Catholic- San Diego 2016) – This 6 foot 5 forward, scores and defends & was solid on both ends one of the best of the day and top in San Diego in this class.

Brent McFarlane (North Canyon 2013) – the 6 foot 2 shooting guard made a few good plays in the half court and has a chance.

Keegan Hansen (Shadow Mountain 2013) – this 6 foot 2 combo guard is an offensive scoring machine and tough prospect, one who can get his shot off, top prospects of the day.

Adam Turner

Adam Turner (Roosevelt – Corona, CA 2014) – good size at 6 foot 7 and can play the wing aggressive and score under the basket, DI prospect with good upside.

Ezekiel Alley (Dodge MS Tucson 2017) – the 5 foot 4 PG matched up well against older and stronger players, Alley is with the Tucson Spartans and will be good in years to watch.

Cameron Miller (Orange Grove MS Tucson, AZ 2017) – at 5 foot 8 he can handle the ball well and has a high basketball IQ, can drive and pull up effective and passes well playing both guard positions.

Frankie Trujillo (Cienega Tucson 2016) – long and raw but don’t sleep on him, good size and still developing with defensive skills.

Cameron Miller

Alexander Lopez (Maricopa 2014) – played with Gila River, had a decent first two games and still has a chance.

Bear Mosley (Chandler 2014) – played with heart, the 6 foot 5 post player runs the floor well and can rebound.

Kyler Ashley (Window Rock 2013) – played with Gila River, feisty guard at 5 foot 7 and created on his own.

Conner Estes (Flagstaff 2014) – the 6 foot 3 guard played well in the game we watched and moves well without the ball, scored on a few drives to the basket.

Arthur Caldwell (Planet Athlete Academy 2013) – strong post player at 6 foot 5, rebounds well and scores inside.

Reid Johnson

Bailey Stephens (Flagstaff 2014) – very high basketball IQ, plays a couple of positions at 6 foot 4 and still growing, is a gifted scorer that is long on the wing and slashes hard, with a 3.7 grade point average.

Brandon Cyrus (Torrey Pines San Diego 2016) – the 6 foot 3 guard is really active and can finish, one of the top performers of the day and plays with Gamepoint.

Sean Birk (El Camino San Diego 2016) – played with Gamepoint, 6’0 PG that can pass on the break and defends tight.

Tyson Smith (Planet Athlete Academy 2013) – the 6 foot 2 PG can run a team and has DI potential, good getting to the basket and can pass.

Brent McFarlene

Justin Simon (Roosevelt Corona 2015) – high major skills, played with Gamepoint, the 6 foot 4 PG can do it all and was one of the Top Performers of the day.

Sam Bockman (El Camino San Diego 2015) – nice face up game at 6 foot 5 plays on the wing and inside when needed, strong rebounder.

Brady Twombly (La Costa Canyon San Diego 2015) – good size for a wing that can drive to the basket or pull up at 6 foot 5, good skill set.

Khy Kabellis (Escondido San Diego 2015) – pass first PG at 6 foot 2 and makes plays in transition, hit a few three pointers in one game during the showcase.

Keaton Ranger

Benjamin Williams (Westview 2016) – played hard on both ends and is a smooth passer.

Jack Beach (Torrey Pines San Diego 2015) – the 5 foot 11 guard played with Gamepoint, don’t let his size fool you as he hit 7 three pointers in one game and knows how to play.

Tony Lillard (Planet Athlete Academy 2013) – quick ball handler and good speed on offense, 6’0 PG has skills.

Tanner Hintze

Mamadou Sacko (Planet Athlete Academy 2013) – the 6 foot 9 post player is a force in the middle and runs the floor, decent jump hook and showed going left and right.

Roshan Montgomery (Mingus 2013) – the 5 foot 9 guard was the best player on his team, scores buckets and had a couple steals on defense.
