Leumi, Jenkins named MVP & AZ FROSH SOPH Top 20
Mesa, AZ – I would like everyone to enjoy Labor Day so I will give you a quick break down of the Top 20 game at the Full Court Press Arizona FROSH SOPH Showcase. The RECAP of the entire event will be posted in the next few days so stay in touch with Area Codes Basketball.
This event was held Sept 1-2 at Mesa High School and was directed by Chad Groth, Etop Udo Ema and Alex Austin. The directors would like to thank Shane Burcar and the Mesa High School basketball coaching staff and players for all their help this weekend and the volunteer coaches that helped give time back to sharing leadership in coaching youth during the Labor Day Weekend.
The Top 20 All Star game should produce several future division I basketball prospects and this event is always the first of the Fall in which players as freshman and sophomores can get their name on the map.
2015 prospects Orr Leumi (Bishop Gorman HS, Las Vegas, NV) and Jalen Jenkins (Mesa HS, Mesa, AZ) played with high energy all weekend and stood out among the players in the two day event. Orr listed at 6 foot 4 showed point guard skills and a knock down jumper with the ability to take over a game. Jenkins is 6 foot 4 also and is highly athletic with super defensive skills and a threat on offense, with a scoring punch. Jenkins holds an offer from Arizona State and head coach Herb Sendek, Leumi announces this as his coming out party to college coaches as nobody knew his name, well Chad Groth and Area Codes Basketball will now put him on the MAP. Both Leumi and Jenkins earned the CO-MVP honors selected by Chad Groth of Area Codes Basketball.
