Isaiah Lopez most underrated PG on West Coast
Goodyear, AZ – When it comes to point guards you have to have a lot qualities. Your also an extension to your coach, the quarterback, leader, motivator and in charge.
A point guard is someone that everybody wants as a teammate, because thats who gives them the ball. More like former LA Laker and current Oklahoma City Thunder guard Derek Fisher and how much he is wanted, he is a winner.
Area Codes Basketball wants to let you meet the next best kept secret and most underrated point guards in the country.
Isaiah Lopez is one of the best pure point guards I have watched this spring.
Lopez is a 6 foot 1 2013 prospect that plays at Agua Fria High School in Avondale, AZ. As a junior averaged 8.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 5.4 apg and 2.5 steal per game.
Lopez plays club basketball for the San Diego Magic, a team affiliated with the Compton Magic directed by Etop Udo Ema.
Lopez has nice court savvy and a high basketball IQ. He also knows how to direct traffic being a natural leader and solid ball handler in which he handles very well and plays under control. Lopez is explosive and can knock down the open jumper and likes to push the ball in transition, most of all defends.
Lopez in the classroom currently holds a 3.7 grade point average as a junior and is already academically qualified.
His recruiting is starting to pick up a few schools have shown interest including Cornell, Oregon State, Loyola University Chicago and Rhode Island.
“I will continue to work on getting faster and strong to excel at the next level, I can bring a lot to any team as I am a good leader and do whatever it takes”, said Lopez.
Lopez also is a member of the NCAA First Team conference which is now called Ihoops. The past three years he has been to the conference which was held in Kansas City, MO (2009), Scottsdale, AZ (2010) and San Diego, CA (2011). Only 100 of the nations top prospects are invited to attend the annual conference held in August.

During Area Codes Basketball’s Easter Classic Lopez was named as one of the top performers and at the Memorial Day Magic Festival in California he was named all tournament, in where Lopez helped the San Diego Magic to keys wins against ICan All Stars and Belmont Shore.
“He improves every year since I watched him play six years ago, he played in the Middle School All State Games back four years ago and I knew he was going to be a player. Lopez is a student of the game and is a throw back pure point guard that makes few mistakes”, said Jeff Meadows of Hoops Report.
The Area Codes Basketball Arizona rankings in the 2013 class will stay as Jaron Hopkins is the top point guard in the state followed by Isaiah Lopez at number 2.
