ELITE 8 breaks down the ELITE 8

Glendale, AZ -The ADIDAS ELITE 8 in the Desert was held May 12 & 13, 2012 in Phoenix and Glendale, AZ. 64 teams participated from Utah, Nevada, Texas, New Mexico, California and Arizona.

Tournament directors Chad Groth and Etop Udo-Ema were pleased with the line up of teams and players that participated. Muscle Milk also was added this year as a sponsor.

This week the Top Performers will be posted as well as the All-Tournament team. media and scout attended across the country for this event in it’s 5th year as well as a dozen junior college and Division II coaches.

It was an All Magic Final yesterday in the Elite 8 in the Desert as Compton Magic Elite and The Magic (AZ) both reached the Championship game yesterday in Arizona.  Both teams were named co-champs.
Teams that reached the Elite 8 in the Platinum Division were Compton Magic Elite (CA), The Magic (AZ), Las Vegas Prospects (NV), Socal Soldiers (CA), Marcus Banks Hard 2Guard (NV), AZ Pump N Run Seniors (AZ), Passion 4 Ball (AZ) and San Diego Magic (CA).
Paul George Elite defeated the Arizona Stars in the Gold Division championship game.  The Elite 8 teams in the Gold Division were Paul George Elite(CA), Arizona Stars (AZ), High 5 America (CA), Compton Magic Black (CA), AZ Pump N Run 2014 (AZ), Spirit Select (CA), Team Metro (AZ) and Tucson Pump N Run (AZ).
 
Utah Hoops defeated Arizona Future in the 17U National Division championship game.  The Elite 8 teams in the National Division were Utah Hoops (UT), Arizona Future (AZ), Gamepoint (CA), Desert Storm (AZ), Compton Magic 2015 (CA), Dream (CA), Paul George Select (CA) and AZ Pump N Run Crump (AZ).
It was an all Las Vegas Prospects (NV) championship in the 16U Division with the Prospects 16′s and Prospects 15′s both making the championship.  They were named co champs as well.

    Chad and Etop, as always you provided a great venue with high level competition for players and teams to exhibit their skills, talents and love of the game. Your commitment to producing a great tournamnent left us coming away learning more about our team and individual player’s benchmarks regarding skills and effectiveness as we continue to work hard at becoming the best players, teammates, coaches and refs. toward developing fine young men.
